It would be nice to be getting something, but as Anna said its only January and the UK doesn't need to over hype Doctor Who in January to get the good ratings etc later on. Possibly the US feels that it needs to keep the hype up, in England it is well know, in America it was a cult thing until recently. When people kind of know a show has history but really doesn't realize how vast 50 years is, to suddenly thrust upon them stuff from 50 years ago probably would lose them a bit. I guess that is why the UK isn't being proactive right now. Yeah I'd love a lot of different things happening, but the BBC is only 4 channels, they've had Big Finish on the radio, they have a web site up. The filming of the docudrama starts soon and then in March the next series which is ready to air WILL air. THEN the BBC will start to promote the anniversary. But why really over promote the anniversary to UK viewers NOW when its still 2 months away basically until series 7b (which will have little if no connection to the anniversary.) You use 7b to spring board the anniversary celebrations, don't lose it to them. But that only works for us as most people are thought to tune into BBC at some point. For the people that do they just want to know when Who is on, not any of the back stage stuff. People who don't might go online and know more but they again will just look for airing dates and get over it. The UK expects Doctor Who to be on at some point. People have to be excited for it in America else they won't subscribe to BBCA (I believe you need to right?) therefore they won't watch Doctor Who on BBCA they might find it online or else just buy DVDs. Thing is if the US audience lose interest or don't get told it is a big birthday for all these eleven Doctors, the newer US audience won't care enough. The BBC probably think its a given for the UK, which I believe it is. Do I think there will be more announced? I hope so but not holding my breath! PS Thanks Anna for the new smilies....
