Don't get me wrong we did a little bit of Euro-history and the classics. I remember doing a few short lessons on Egyptians/Romans/Greeks but it was like they were the only civilizations around, we did a class in general about revolutions just before we once again learnt about the American revolution. WW1 and WW2 but not in great detail and the teacher that taught us WW2 seemed to think the war only started after Pearl Harbor and that you lot should be grateful for us for sorting out the mess ya'll got into.
Mainly it was Columbus, Mayflower, Pilgrims, Revolution, Civil War, a little bit about pre-Columbus America, Industrial revolution, Canadian and Mexican history and local history.
And even though most would find ya "not much history" remark disrespectful especially on today of all days I'll agree but mainly because it ain't as interesting as what I've learnt since.
Which actually was the point you made earlier about whether it is history or what we learnt about history that makes us dislike it. I actively seeked out things like the French Revolution, Medieval times, Kings and Queens and that sort after leaving school and found it very informative and interesting, if we'd been taught more of that I'd have probably enjoyed history much more.
