You do realise that Elsa was meant to be the bad guy? It was only at the last moment they changed their mind. Anna is the main character, you can tell that surprisingly by the amount of time that she's in the movie . Elsa was a good character ruined by the main character. Frozen could have been so much more! It could have truly showed that true love is boundless. Kristoph didn't need to be anyone's boyfriend, the whole love story with Anna just wasn't needed. If anything Else was a victim the whole movie of prejudice, segregation and the fear of people who don't want to understand the unknown. She never wanted to be Queen, she wanted to learn to control her powers and not hurt people. In the end the only person who got a happy ending was Anna but she didn't deserve it! She was a brat! She was horrible! I'm not sure why you feel that of Merida, I might agree with Rapunzel even though I liked her a lot but Merida?! There is so much more to Merida. She's a Tom boy for a start fighting against the perceived stereotype of Disney Princesses. She didn't want to fall in love, she didn't want a relationship and she defo didn't want anything forced on her. She was a brat yes but the whole mother turning into a bear thing was to make her learn that she isn't always right and that her mother loves her and just wants the best for her and you have to give a little to stop the bickering, its called growing up and that is what happened with Merida, the mother also had a lesson to learn which is true of real life. Every parent lives in a different generation to their children, her mother was used to being what she was and forgot what it was like to be young but also never understood what her kid wanted for life. Because she had to get married and do her bit she didn't realise there was anything else for Merida or if there was anything else that she'd want. Merida's growth came in realising that being a brat wasn't going to get her anywhere and that her mum loved her and just wanted the best. Merida's story was that she changed her clan and the clans around hers mind on what a Princess and a girl/women in general should be thought of. She wasn't some prize to be won she was her own person. She was just as good as the boys, just as brave as the boys and just as capable of living her own life as the males. She didn't need a prince to complete her story. That is a GREAT message for young children. Elsa KIND of had that kind of story, she learnt that it didn't matter what others thought of her powers it was how she felt that mattered but the focus was never truly on Elsa. Anna was a brat, all she wanted was HER knight in shining armour to talk to HER sister and to meet people HERSELF. She didn't care that her sister obviously was very upset that her sister DIDN'T want to be in a room of people and that being a total bitch to her sister was freakin her out. When Elsa ran away she went on a quest to save her being a bit of a brat to Kristoph along the way just to go back and get her comeuppance with Hans. But what happens then? Does she really learn a lesson? No. Because everyone thinks she's so brave, everyone thinks she's lovely and she gets HER happy ending. HER boyfriend. HER sister. HER life. HER this and HER that. The ending had 0% to do with what ELSA wanted. So story being be a bitch and get your own way because your sister is a freak.
